Syllabus
Goals:
1. Posture, Instrument hold, and Left hand position.
2. Tuning of the instrument with double stops.
3. Vibrato/flexibility.
4. Rhythms & Counting: off beats, syncopation;review16ths, triplets, 6/8, 2/2 dotted quarter, single eithths quarter, eighths, half, dotted half & whole, equivalent rests.
5. Shifting, spiccato, parallel bow, intense/resonant tone
6. Positions: violin/viola -III, cello- III, IV, bass- II, III, IV, V
7. Scales: all one octave major scales and Two Octave D, G, and C Major
8. Harmonics, mutes, trill, tremolo.
9. Flashcards: first position D Major + low1, low 2, X4
10. Theory/Terms: whole and half steps (accidentals), note/rest values, accidental, fine, da capo, interval, dynamics, forte, piano, mezzoforte, mezzopiano, forte, fortissimo, pianissimo, tutti, diminuendo, crescendo, enharmonic, spiccato, staccato, moderato, allegro, andante, adagio, tempo, fermata, ritardando, accelerando, accent, syncopation, con sordino, senza sordino, trill, tremolo, divisi, major, minor, presto, coda, dal segno, technique, intonation, ensemble.
