Syllabus
Goals:
1. Posture, Instrument hold, and Left hand position.
2. Review tuning of the instrument provided each string.
3. Vibrato/flexibility.
4. Rhythms & Counting: 16ths, triplets; review dotted quarter, single eighths, eighths, half, dotted half & whole, equivalent rests.
5. Bow Concepts: Spiccato, parallel bow, intense/resonant tone
6. Scales: DM, GM, CM, FM, Bb, dm, gm, EbM
8. Double Stops and String Crossings
9. Flashcards: first position D Major + low1, low 2, X4
10. Theory/Terms: whole and half steps (accidentals), note/rest values, accidental, fine, da capo, interval, dynamics, forte, piano, mezzoforte, mezzopiano, forte, fortissimo, pianissimo, tutti, diminuendo, crescendo, enharmonic, spiccato, staccato, moderato, allegro, andante, adagio, tempo, fermata, ritardando, accelerando, accent, syncopation.
