Goals:
1. Posture, Instrument hold, and Left hand position.
2. Tuning of the instrument with double stops.
3. Vibrato/flexibility.
4. Rhythms & Counting: 1.read quarter, eighth 2. read half, whole, dotted half 3. read dotted quarter 4. read sixteenth 5. mixed meter 6. intro. 32nd notes 7. time signatures 5/4 3/8 5/8 6/4
5. Technique: shifting, spiccato, parallel bow, intense/resonant tone, grace notes
6. Positions: III (first quarter), II (second quarter) IV & V (third quarter) VII (fourth quarter)
7. Scales: all two octave, three octave : GCD
8. Bowings: legato, slurs, spiccato, staccato, detache, tremolo, sul tast & ponticello, col legno
9. History: musical style periods, characterisitics, and composers, identify listening samples
10. Theory/Terms: key signatures (major & minor), order of sharps and flats , whole and half steps with enharmonics, note/rest values, intervals, write scales & counting.
