NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

                                                     Clearinghouse Information for Athletes

In order to participate in athletics and receive athletically-based financial aid, you must register with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse and meet eligibility standards. If you wish to register on-line with the Clearinghouse, you must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number and a VISA or MasterCard. If you received a fee waiver for the ACT or SAT exam and are requesting a waiver of the Clearinghouse fee, you may indicate this in Section VI. NOTE that your registration will not be processed until the Clearinghouse receives a waiver    confirmation from your high school counselor. If you are seeking a waiver, you should talk to your high school counselor to determine if you are eligible for the waiver. Individuals unable to file electronically, or who do not want to provide a Social Security Number, should complete a paper version of the Student Release Form . The forms are available at www.ncaaclearinghouse.com  (PDF version).

Important Note:
Transcripts and test scores must be sent directly to the Clearinghouse. These documents cannot be faxed or submitted online. There are many reasons why a student's academic document could be determined to be "unofficial" and therefore unacceptable for Clearinghouse purposes. If a document is not received in an official high school envelope or is received with the student's return address, this document could be marked as "unofficial." "Official" high school documents must be received in an envelope easily determined to be from the school and on high school stationery. Test scores must either come to the Clearinghouse directly from the testing agencies (selection of the Clearinghouse can be made using code "9999") or on an "official" high school transcript, normally using the testing agencies' labels. Please note that Student Score Reports and test scores taken from a Student Score Report cannot be used by the Clearinghouse.

*         Failure to follow these steps will render the student ineligible to enroll as an athlete at any NCAA Division IA, IAA, or II school.

*      Fee waivers are available for students who are unable to meet the cost of the processing fee.  See the guidance          counselor to apply for a waiver.

*         Anyone having questions concerning the Clearinghouse may call  877-262-1492

To be eligible for available scholarship opportunities, students must earn a high school diploma, pass all parts of the GHST, and meet admission  requirements for the college offering the scholarship.
