College Visits

There are several ways to make college visits:

 1.  Arrange for a day or  weekend visit through the admissions office.

2.  Drop in – drive/walk through the campus on your own or stop by the admissions office to see anyone is available to give you a tour.

3.  Attend a Visitation Day.  Most colleges have several days set aside for giving tours to prospective students.  Contact the admissions office to or your counselor to get the available dates.  The primary difference between attending the Visitation Day and arranging for an individual tour is the number of participants.  Visitation Days usually include large groups

 4.  Obtain an invitation from a friend/relative/acquaintance to spend a day or weekend as their guest.

 Suggestions for College Visits

1.  Share the occasion with your family.

2.  Do ask questions.

3.  Try to see as much of the campus lifestyle as you can (take in a football game, visit the cafeteria, go to the student center, visit a dorm,   etc.)

4.  Talk to students and faculty about the college.

Every student may have 2 school days for which they will be counted  present in order to visit colleges.  In order to be counted present, you must:

Bring a statement from the admissions office that you visited the college on the date you were absent from school.  This statement must be presented to the attendance office the day you return to school.
