Dear parents,
Fundraising is an integral part of running a successful program. Listed below are our needs for the upcoming season. We need your support in accomplishing these goals. You will be receiving dates of upcoming fundraisers for which we will need a little of your time. You will also be receiving the date for our first booster club meeting. We will need to elect officers and plan a budget.
Needs:
- Team warm-ups
- Team singlets ($65-$75 each) We need a set of 14
- Attend 6 regular season tournaments plus area duals and traditional region($100-250 entry fee per tournament)
- Attend 1-2 camps during the summer
- Travel expenses for Area Duals, State Duals, Sectionals, and the Traditional State
- Awards Banquet
Goals:
· 1st place Clayton County Tournament
· 1st place Area Duals Tournament
· Top 8 placing at State Duals Tournament
· 1st place Region Tournament
· Qualify 10 wrestlers for sectionals at the region tournament
· Qualify 8 wrestlers for state at the sectionals tournament
· Top 10 placing at Traditional State Tournament
· Have at least 2 individual state champions
· Have at least 4 individual state placers
· Send at least two wrestlers to wrestle on the collegiate level
Accomplishments:
- Clayton County Champions 1981-1998, 2002-2006
- Clayton County Runner-up 2007, 2008
- 3rd place Clayton County Tournament 2008-09 (with only 6 wrestlers)
- Region Runner-up 2006, 2007
- Area Duals runner-up 2006
- 1 state placer 2007 (Vester Walker-4th place 215lbs.)
- 2 state placers 2009 (Giovonte Ortiz-4th place 130 lbs/Michael Carlisle 2nd place 215 lbs.)
- Placed 16th in the state as a team 2009 out of 70+ schools
